Food: Protein Driven, enjoys 7th Legs Muscle Meal, Calci-Yum, Garden Graze and Fungal Feast. Carrots, sweet potato, fish flake (with algae), and much more. (My colonies have destroyed uneaten reptile feeders such as pinkys and small mice!)

Best Use: Pets (We don't suggest Porcellio laevis as a clean up crew for a few reasons including the fact that they are protein driven, and breed quickly.) They also can work well as feeders for certain animals.

Conglobates?: No

Fun Facts:

Though thought to originate from Northern Africa, the wild type of this species was first described in Britain during the late 13th century. Nowadays this species is popular amongst many hobbiests and professionals alike due to the wide array of fantastic morphs it comes in. This morph can be found both in the wild and in hobbiests collection. Their morph is a result of the Dalmatian gene. Porcellio laevis are considered an easy beginner isopod, just be weary as they breed rather quickly, with females producing broods every 2-4 weeks.

All isopods will be juviniles, adult isopods do not fare well in transit.
